• Question: how come you can see things in the dark even though there is no light in the room to reflect off things.

      If there really is no light, then you will not be able to see anything at all. Even in dark rooms there is usually very low levels of light (for example, from a digital watch, the power button on an appliance or from stars in the sky coming through the curtains). This will be enough to make out things.
