      Isaac Newton had developed his theory for understanding gravity hundreds of years ago. And it was a pretty good theory, but there was some flaws in it.

      It is said (though it may not be true) that Einstein was thinking about this and realized that someone who falls from the roof of a house doesn’t experience a gravitational field. So he thought that gravitation was exactly the same as acceleration. He used this to form his “general theory of relativity” which is how we understand gravitation today.
