In terms of science education, Singapore is similar to Britain. We take the GCE O and A levels too and we go to University to learn more about science. We don’t have I’m a Scientist (in fact, I think I’m the only person from Singapore who is taking part in this right now!) and students don’t really get to interact with scientists until they reach University. But we do have the Singapore Science Festival once a year which shows many interesting science demostrations such as making silkworms produce glow in the dark silk. The Singapore government has invested quite a lot of money in promoting science and setting up research centres to attract the best scientists from all around the world to work here. There are a few scientists from Britain who are working in my university! I haven’t been to Britain (maybe someday I will) so I’m not so sure about how science is done there. Is it different from Singapore?
The best thing about science is that it is universal and you can do it wherever you are in the world!
