• Question: If you found out how exactly pond scum can help stop the Earth from overheating, could you create pond scum to help reduce the Earth's heat instead of taking it from ponds?

Pond scum or microalgae is a living organism so I can’t “create” it. But what I can do is to find and isolate microalgae from the environment which are good at photosynthesis so that they can take up more carbon dioxide which will prevent global warming.

I can also modify existing microalgae by genetic engineering to make them better at what they do. So in a way, you can say I’m creating new kinds of microalgae!
