  He’s probably making himself as big as possible to try and slow the fall. People often waggle their arms and legs if they fall from a height and this is probably the hamster equivalent. He’s just trying to not get hurt in the fall. If he’s running away and jumping off the stairs because he’s scared, it’s probably not normal.

  Hamsters are not cats and they may not always be able to land on their feet all the time when they fall. So be careful that he doesn’t fall from a great height!
