      A Neuroscientisit is a specialist health profession who diagnoses problems with the brain and spine. Did you know that your brain sends out lots of electrical signials to control the organs of the body. Thats why you fel thiings like pain and heat as well as hunger etc. There are lots of equipment used in this field to assess and monitor the nervous system.

      Actually, the health professionals Cathal refers to are called “neurologists”.

      A “neuroscientist” is someone who studies the science of the brain and nerves. In my case, I study how the signals from the outside world are detected by special nerves, then sent to the brain and given meaning. Because the brain is such a complex organ, there is still loads of neuroscience still to learn. So we need young people to become interested in it and train to become neuroscientists in the future.
