The most important bit to me is getting answers to the questions I have. Things like can I make a molecule that looks like this, or a material that does something useful. I like getting answers to those. My boss would probably say that the most important aspect of the work is getting results and writing them up into scientific papers and publishing them. Then writing applications to get more funding to do more research. Those are OK but get in the way of doing experiments.

I think the most important aspect of my work is understanding how the microalgae function. Writing reports and getting the data published are also important.
