I’ve been thinking about this since the live chat this morning. Some molecules made by animals make really strong materials. Some of the creatures that live at the seaside such as limpets secrete chemicals that they use to stick to rock. They can deal with all the waves battering them, and they don’t fall off. So I think the stone and the limpit stuff makes a pretty strong material.
Spider silk is incredibly strong too, and its made of proteins of two kinds – one that’s stretchy and one that’s strong. It’s actually stronger than steel so that might be a good one.
      I’ll keep thinking – it’s a really good question 😉
