I make materials called zeolites that have a tiny structure a bit like honeycombs. They are really good at soaking up small things like metal ions and gases. I also make materials called dendrimers which look like snowflakes and again are good at soaking up metal ions. I’m hoping that by making zeolites with dendrimer bits hanging off them, we’ll be able to make materials that are even better at soaking up metal ions.
