Question: who came first, the chicken or the egg?

Well if you base this from evolution then what you would have had is a chicken like animal which would have laid an egg like the chickens we know today and over time these animals would become more chicken like and lay more eggs. Therefore before our modern day chicken – the egg was first but before that was an animal very similar to a chicken.
