• Question: Why can only some people sing?

      I think it depends on how well you can control your voice. People who can control their voices better will be able to sing better than others who cannot because they will be able to pitch their voices accordingly to the melody and harmony of the song. A background with musical training helps too. Voice control comes with practice and training and some people will naturally have nicer sounding voices than others. But in order to sing really well, most people, even those with natural talent, will need practice.

      It’s probably the same reasons as to why some people make good footballers and dancers but others don’t.

      Some people are ‘tone deaf’ which means that they can’t tell the difference between different music notes and it makes it pretty much impossible to sing. Other people can’t keep time to the beat of music, and they are more likely to be tone deaf. And really strangely, some people can’t recognise a song as one they’ve heard before.The opposite of being tone deaf are people who have perfect pitch. They can name a musical note very easily or tell you what key a song is in without too much difficulty.
