• Question: Why do they sterilize needles for lethal injections?

      The needles that they use are the same ones that are used for medical treatment so they come sterilized. It also protects the technicians who have to use the needles, in case they accidentally stick themselves with it. Also in lethal injections, the person often has a drip set up initially and then the lethal drugs are added to that. The execution might be stopped at the last minute so then its important that the needles are clean.
      I see where you’re coming from with that question though.
