Split ends are caused by damage to your hair. The ends of your hair become brittle from too much drying or straightening or curling…styling in general. The ends aren’t repaired by the body, really its dead – only the bit of hair attached to your head is still growing and alive. Hair is made up of long proteins that form fibres and I guess these go a bit funny with too much styling and start to split.
      Split ends are really annoying.
